Area 51 CNC Shop

Originally acquired in 2007 to support student clubs and teams, the Area 51 CNC Shop is now a vital fabrication facility with CNC milling and lathe machines, an injection molding machine, and a waterjet cutting machine. An inspirational hive of activity, the  Area 51 CNC Shop  is dedicated to supporting innovation and creativity at MIT.

Access to the Area 51 CNC Shop (on the ground floor of Building N51) is available to students on Edgerton Center clubs and teams, D-Lab, and to the students, faculty, and staff of the International Design Centre (MIT and SUTD), and by others with the express permission of the shop manager, Pat McAtamney
