Electric Vehicle Team's energy efficient future
If you haven’t heard much about the Electric Vehicle Team lately that could soon change. Many Edgerton Center teams experience ebbs and flows in activity due to the fluctuating number of incoming and outgoing team members, the team’s knowledge base, and their capacity for new projects. Electric Vehicle Team is a case in point.
MIT Solar Car to take on Australian outback
A team of 17 MIT students and alumni will travel 3,000 kilometers across the Australian Outback in a Solar Electric Vehicle for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2015 starting on October 18. A total of 47 teams from 25 countries—made up of mostly colleges and universities—will compete in the six-day competition that encourages research into sustainable transportation methods as well as solar technology.
SEVT's Arcturus completes the World Solar Challenge
Laboring for countless hours on the lower body layup, sleeping under the stars in Australia, seeing one’s brake mounts in action for the first time. These and countless others go down as favorite memories for members of the Solar Electric Vehicle Team who raced their vehicle Arcturus in the 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (WSC).
