Due to the evolving Covid-19 situation, shop trainings are postponed until MIT returns to normal operations.
The monthly training program is conducted in the evenings and consists of 12 hours of hands-on instruction. Students learn the basics of milling and lathe work by making two small parts and ultimately fabricating their own steel flashlight.
If you are a registered MIT student, have a well rounded familiarity with machine safety, use, tooling and proper setup, you can schedule a meeting with an instructor to gain access by taking a safety lecture, which is offered every few weeks as needed.
To apply for training you must currently be a registered MIT student.
Please email the shop manager, Mr. Mark Belanger, at email@example.com, to sign up for training.
