Training is open

The monthly training program is conducted in the evenings and consists of 12 hours of hands-on instruction. Students learn the basics of milling and lathe work by making two small parts and ultimately fabricating their own steel flashlight.

If you are a registered MIT student, have a well rounded familiarity with machine safety, use, tooling and proper setup, you can schedule a meeting with an instructor to gain access by taking a safety lecture, which is offered every few weeks as needed.

If you want to be added to the list for shop training, please fill out this Google Form.

Please email the shop manager, Mr. Mark Belanger, mdbelang@mit.edu, with any questions or concerns.
