First Ever Virtual Open House for Student Clubs and Teams

It’s been a year of firsts on many fronts.

One of them was the first ever virtual Open House for Edgerton Center Clubs and Teams. Planned by the students, 14 teams participated and about 80 first year students showed up. On Zoom.

The event provided an opportunity to introduce the Class of 2025 to the teams – Rocket Team, Engineers Without Borders, Hyperloop, Battlebots, and more. Teams displayed images of their projects, answered questions, and encouraged new students to engage in what for many of the students, encapsulates a hands-on engineering education, a source of community, and even the chance to help each other with P-sets.

In another first, a two-minute video made to feature all of the teams was crafted by Jade Chongsathapornpong and Aditya Mehrota from the MIT Solar Electric Vehicle Team and Summer Hoss and Lili Sun from the MIT Rocket Team. The video alone is worth the watch and given the number of student sign-ups, did the job intended. Watch here
